Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know before and during your stay at our South End brownstone, from parking and check-in to getting around Boston.
01Where can I park during my stay?
On-site parking is not available, but two convenient garages are located nearby.
Overnight parking: Northeastern University Garage, 10 Gainsborough Street. Approximately $32 per 24-hour period.
Daytime parking: 277 Northampton Street Garage, a convenient option for daytime and evening parking.
02What is included in my booking?
Your stay includes the entire duplex: Unit 2 and the penthouse on the floor above. These two private levels give your group plenty of room to gather, relax, and enjoy added privacy.
Set within a classic South End brownstone, the duplex combines historic Boston character with easy access to outstanding restaurants, museums, and shopping.
03How does check-in work?
Check-in is fully self-service. A secure lockbox is attached to the doorknob at the top of the exterior stairs, and your access codes will be shared with you directly before arrival.
Once inside, head up the interior stairs. Unit 2 is directly in front of you at the top of the first flight, and the penthouse is one floor above. Each residence has its own keypad entry.
After opening the front door, please return the key to the lockbox and secure it so upcoming guests and cleaners have access. Two copies of the exterior keys are provided inside your unit.
04Is Wi-Fi available?
Yes. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the duplex. The network name and password are provided in the guest guide inside your unit and in your arrival details.
05How do the heating and air conditioning work?
Each room has its own mini-split system for heating and cooling, so you can set the temperature room by room.
Important: all remotes must be set to the same operating mode (Heat, Cool, etc.) for the system to work properly. Please keep the remotes in their designated holders, and feel free to reach out if you need any help.
06Is there a washer and dryer?
Yes. An in-unit washer and dryer are located in the hallway closet. Laundry detergent and a step stool can be found in the primary bedroom closet.
For best results, we recommend the Quick Wash setting on the washer and Timed Dry on the dryer.
07Is the neighborhood noisy at night?
The duplex is generally quiet, though we are located in a vibrant city neighborhood. To help you rest well, we provide:
- Blackout shades in both bedrooms, located behind the sheer shades on each window.
- White noise machines on the bedroom nightstands, with adjustable volume.
- Complimentary ear plugs for guests who prefer an even quieter environment.
08How do I get around Boston?
Boston is one of the most walkable cities in America, and the South End puts you close to it all.
The T (MBTA): the Orange Line is right on our block, and the Green Line is just a few blocks away.
Rideshare: Uber and Lyft are readily available throughout the city and typically arrive within minutes.
09What are the house rules?
To keep the brownstone a welcoming place for guests and neighbors alike, we kindly ask that you observe the following:
- No parties or events.
- Please be respectful of neighboring residents.
- Quiet hours are appreciated, particularly in the evenings.
- No smoking inside the property.
10What should I do before checking out?
Check-out is simple. Before departing, please:
- Leave all building keys on the kitchen counter.
- Turn off all heating and air-conditioning units.
- Load and run the dishwasher, if needed.
- If time permits, start a load of towels. This is greatly appreciated and helps us prepare for incoming guests.
